DOHA, May 11, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti MP Shuaib Al-Muwaizri called on Iran here on Wednesday to study the final statement of GCC consultative summit issued on Tuesday.
He added in remarks to KUNA on the sidelines of his participation in Doha 11th forum that kicked off last Monday that the final statement came in accordance with hopes and aspiration of Gulf people, and tackled the dangers and challenges facing Gulf security.
He added that this statement is not a “deterrence but is a warning because we disapprove what Iran is doing toward the Gulf states.” The people of Gulf countries share strong deep rooted ties, and are loyal to their homelands, the MP stressed.
Issues discussed at the summit focused on the future of the region, strategies of development besides others, he said.
He praised the Qatar’s wise policy in the fields of economics and politics, that allowed it to host such events.
Earlier, leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states voiced Tuesday evening concern over the persistent interferences by Iran in the domestic affairs of their countries.
Iran conspires against the national security of the GCC countries through fomenting sectarian sedition among their citizens in a flagrant violation of their sovereignty and independence, the principles of neighborliness, the international laws, the UN Charter and the charger of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), according to a press release issued after the 13th GCC consultative summit here.
Hailing the return of stability and calm to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the GCC renewed full support to the Kingdom in the face of the external threats.
The protection of security and stability of a GCC country is a collective responsibility and an integral part of the GCC security based on the provisions of joint defense treaty. Therefore, the Peninsula Shield Force entered Bahrain to help restore the country’s stability.
