Addressing the ceremony in the provincial capital city of Mashhad, Afghan Deputy Minister for Women's Affairs Mojgan Mostafavi underlined the importance of Women Friendship Week for the two countries' females, and said, "Afghanistan's women ministry initiated the Friendship Week between the Iranian and Afghan women" due to the same importance.

She also stressed that holding joint programs between the Iranian and Afghan women will make the two countries' women and the Afghan female refugees living in Iran familiar with each other.
