A Chinese navy task group with seven ships has passed between the Japanese Islands of Okinawa and Miyako … exercises until 07 Oct … destroyers HARBIN (112) and SHIJAZHUANG (116), frigates MIANYANG (528) and YANCHENG (546), supply ship HONGZHE HU, (submarine) rescue ships CHANGXINGDAO (861) and HAIYANGDAO (864) … the latter would suggest also submarines in the area.

A total of eight paramilitary Chinese vessels (CMS, Fishery Protection) stay “in the contiguous zone” (not territorial waters) around the disputed Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands …also one Taiwanese patrol vessel in the area.
