Syrian army attacks militants near Aleppo International Airport

Syrian forces have attacked foreign-backed militants near Aleppo International Airport as the army continues its mop-up operation in the northwestern city, Press TV reports.

The militants were reportedly moving their forces to Aleppo’s northern belt when they were attacked by the Syrian army on Thursday.

The attack comes a day after the army announced it had made significant advances in Aleppo.

Meanwhile, Damascus has rejected reports that the al-Nusra Front terrorists have gained control of parts of the Minnegh military airbase in Aleppo.
