Das House hat gestern sang- und klanglos einen Haushaltsentwurf verabschiedet. Muss natürlich noch durch den Senat, aber aufgrund der knappen Mehrheitsverhältnisse war das House die deutlich größere Hürde.
Zu den angeblichen Kürzungen beim Verteidigungshaushalt:

House narrowly passes budget resolution containing $100B for defense

“The $100 billion in defense spending this resolution unlocks will enable us to begin restoring American deterrence, prioritizing lethality and ensuring peace through strength,” Rogers said. The blueprint will ultimately allow the U.S. to get defense spending back above 4% of gross domestic product, he said, fulfilling a goal often touted by defense hawks. The current $850 billion Pentagon budget represents about 3% of GDP. The budget resolution directs the House Armed Services Committee to detail how the additional funds would be spent in the next 10 years, but no plan can move forward until the House and Senate agree on one budget blueprint.
