SIIRT, Turkey, May 19 (Reuters) - Suspected separatist Kurdish militants opened fire on a police checkpoint in southeast Turkey late on Tuesday, killing a police officer and a guard, a security official said.
It was the second raid on a police checkpoint in Siirt province this month, and the official said security forces were searching for two Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) members who carried out Tuesday's attack.
