Kräfteverhältnisse im Nahen Osten und am persischen Golf

Das Thema wäre mal gut um die Kräfteverhältnisse in der Region mal genauer zu analysieren, anstatt unzählige X vs. Y Threads zu öffnen. Hier sollen die politischen Bedingungen analysiert werden wie auch die militärische Stärke was die Waffensysteme der Betroffenen Staaten angeht.

Zu dem Thema habe ich auch eine interessannte Meldung gefunden.

U.S. INTENT ON AMRAAM DEAL FOR JORDAN


WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Bush administration has rejected an Israeli appeal to halt or delay the sale of advanced air-to-air missiles to Jordan.

U.S. officials said the White House and State Department have rebutted Israeli arguments that the sale of the Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile would change the military balance in the Middle East. The officials said the administration has asserted that an AMRAAM sale to Jordan does not pose a threat to Israel.

"The administration's message to Israel didn't leave much room for interpretation," a U.S. official said. "The AMRAAM sale to Jordan will be relayed to Congress, probably when Congress returns from recess."

The State Department has asserted that the AMRAAM sale would not erode Israel's military edge over its Arab neighbors. The department has cited Jordan as a leading U.S. ally, particularly in the war against the Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq.

Meint ihr, sollte Jordanien AMRAAM Raketen bekommen das es irgendwas sonderlich an der Stärke Israels ändern wird ? Ich persönlich glaube nicht das sich dabei viel an der Stärke Israels ändern wird, da Israel so oder so eine sehr moderne Armee hat.
