TEHRAN (MNA) — Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq with 261.8, 133.25 and 112.5 billion barrels of oil reserves respectively are the three first countries enjoying the most oil resource in the world.

According to the report by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), following Iraq, the oil-rich countries of Kuwait, Venezuela, Russia, U.S., the UAE, Libya and Nigeria with 96.5, 77.8, 60, 30.4, 97.8, 29.5, 24 billion barrels of crude oil reserves respectively are the next seven countries having the most oil and gas resources in 2003.

Considering the current P/R (production to reserves) ratio, Iran’s oil reserves are expected to last longer than the rest of the oil producing countries however, the oil reserves of Saudi Arabia, the first producer in the world is thought to last 86.1 years while the figure for Iran would be 107.6 years, the report also noted.

Based on the report, oil reserves of the UAE and Libya would last 59.4 years and those of the U.S. are expected to survive only 10.8 years.
