Corsair hat sich im CMF nochmal gemeldet:
First, in response to Helios, I believe the foils of the Huchuan class are retractable (as he said, single foil raising the bow out of the water while the stern drags behind). I don't believe this to be a Huchuan. It looks too small, if you look at the man in the right part of the picture. The boat, in addition to the superstructure difference, had something that looks like a searchlight, which I don't believe is featured on the Huchuan class. But he has a point about the angle of view being an important issue, a full-on view from the side is probably what we need. Anyone in Beijing or about to make a trip there?
And to Tiger, P-4 has guns facing fore and aft, I don't think PLAN had any variants other than the original Soviet design. Hegu is based on early Soviet Komar-class, but with a steel hull instead of wooden.
Actually, there is not one Huchuan class but two, Type 025 and Type 026. The difference is that the 025 has both gun turrets facing aft, while the 026 has one forward.
