Celebrating the return of 5000 year old ancient relics back home; Iran's President and cultural heritage officials unveiled some 18 historical artifacts which had recently been taken back from a gallery in Britain.
The items belong to the Jiroft Civilization which formed one of the most mysterious chapters of human history in southern Iran. They were smuggled out of the current city of Jiroft between 2001 and 2004. The artifacts were later found in the Barakat Gallery in London which planned to auction them. But after winning the legal battle by Iran they were sent back home.
