Singapur baut acht neue Korvetten, die ebenfalls als Independence-Klasse bezeichnet werden. Diese auch als "Littoral Mission Vessels" bekannten Schiffe verdrängen etwa 1200 t, sind 80 Meter lang, 12 Meter breit und haben einen Tiefgang von 3 Meter. Ihre Höchstgeschwindigkeit beträgt 27 kn, ihre Bewaffnung umfasst u.a. eine OTO Melara 76/62 Super Rapid und ein VLS für Luftabwehr-FK Mica.
Das dritte Schiff dieser Klasse ist gerade auf Kiel gelegt worden.

ST Marine lays keel for Singapore's third Littoral Mission Vessel

Singapore shipbuilder ST Marine has laid down the third of eight Independence-class Littoral Mission Vessels (LMVs) on order for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), a company representative told IHS Jane's on 25 January.

TKMS launches Singapore’s second and third Type 218SG submarines

German naval company ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) has launched the Republic of Singapore Navy’s (RSN) second and third Invincible-class or Type 218SG submarines. On 13 December, the company hosted a combined launch ceremony for both the vessels at its shipyard in Kiel, Germany. The event was presided by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other senior officials from the two countries. [...]

In December 2013, the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) awarded a contract to TKMS to build the first two Type 218SG submarines for the RSN. Later, MINDEF awarded another contract to TKMS in 2017, for building two more submarines of the same class.
