A video, that surfaced as part of the Bushmaster Users Conference, shows Pratt Miller’s EMAV-MCA (Expeditionary Modular Autonomous Vehicle- Medium Caliber Armament) features the XM813 Bushmaster Chain Gun.

The test-firing, conducted during Bushmaster Users Conference, showed how EMAV-MCA fired the Northrop Grumman NG1170W Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) 30x173mm round against a steel plate with the Bushmaster XM813.

AUSA 2021: Army prepares for next phase of RCV prototype testing

US Army officials will conclude shakedown testing with eight robotic combat vehicle (RCV) prototypes in the late-October timeframe, and will then transfer the robots to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland for an additional series of tests to ensure that they are safe for soldiers to operate.

Director of the Next Generation Combat Vehicle Cross-Functional Team Major General Ross Coffman, and Michael Cadieux, the director at Ground Vehicle Systems Center, provided Janes with an RCV-light (RCV-L) and RCV-medium (RCV-M) testing update ahead of this year's annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) conference. Die Idee einen Anhänger mit einem Dynamo und einer Batterie zu verwenden der dadurch dass er gezogen wird Strom erzeugt hatte ich auch schon mal vor Jahren vorgestellt. Aber das Konzept geht noch weiter: die Idee dass man solche Anhänger dann darüber hinaus zusammen stecken und als Bodendrohne verwenden kann finde ich brilliant!

RCV-Pioneer Mobility, Counter-Mobility and Survivability on demand for Remote and Autonomous Vehicles

Da Pioniere immer weiter vorne agieren werden müssen und dort auch erheblich durch feindliche Einwirkung gefährdet sind (in der Ukraine fallen gerade die Pioniere wie die Fliegen), machen solche Fahrzeuge meiner Meinung nach viel Sinn. Zudem sind sie auch interessant in Bezug auf die Frage von IED / immer leistungsfähigeren Minen (der Übergang von Minen zu UGCV wird immer fließender) / und die Frage der strategischen Verlegbarkeit, der Signatur (fallen kleiner aus, weil keine Menschen im Fahrzeug sein müssen) usw usw

Ein Konzept, das ich schon seit langem sehr befürworte und bei dem ich mich immer wieder frage, warum dieses noch nicht viel weiter verbreitet ist. Wozu spezielle Pionierpanzer, wenn man viel sinnvoller Transportpanzer mit Bedienerplätzen für solche Bodendrohnen ausstatten kann? Gerade unsere Stabilisierungseinsätze hätten doch genau dieses Konzept eigentlich massiv fördern müssen.

Rheinmetall revealed a new fire support option for its Mission Master XT unmanned ground vehicle at Eurosatory 2022, with a new launcher module for the HERO-120 loitering munition system.

The Israel Ministry of Defense will begin testing a robotic unmanned vehicle (M-RCV Medium Robotic Combat Vehicle), developed by the Ministry's Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), the Tank and APC Directorate, and Israeli security industries.

The robotic combat vehicle will be unveiled today at Elbit Systems' pavilion at the Eurosatory Defense and Security Exhibition. The vehicle includes a new robotic platform type BLR-2 made by BL, a 30 mm autonomous turret developed by the Tank and APC Directorate for the "Eitan" APC, Elbit's "Iron Fist" Active Protection System, fire control and mission management systems, and robotic autonomous kit, in addition to situation awareness systems. The vehicle also features a capsuled drone for forward reconnaissance missions, and a passive sensing kit developed by Elbit Systems and Foresight.

The technological demonstrator, led by the Ministry of Defense's DDR&D and the Tank and APC Directorate, integrates a number of cutting-edge technologies including advanced maneuvering capabilities, the ability to carry heavy and varied mission loads, and a built-in system for transporting and receiving UAVs.

Auch hier muss ich einmal mehr anmerken, dass solche Systeme für die direkte Feuerunterstützung von Infanterie wesentlich besser geeignet sind als ein GTK Boxer mit Turm / MK und dass sie gerade im Urbanen Umfeld das Risiko deutlich mindern bzw. umgekehrt deutlich risikoreicheres und damit effektiveres Vorgehen ermöglichen.

Milrem Robotics delivers the first THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle to the Spanish Army

The European leading robotics and autonomous systems developer Milrem Robotics has delivered the first THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle to the Spanish Ministry of Defence. [...] The THeMIS was acquired in the framework of the Scorpion program that was launched in early 2021 to evaluate the capabilities of existing unmanned ground vehicles. During the first phase of the program, a list of missions will be defined that can benefit from the usage of unmanned ground systems. [...]

The THeMIS UGV is a multi-mission capable system intended to support dismounted troops that can serve as a mule for transporting a squad’s gear or be rapidly converted into a weaponized remotely operated unit to offer force protection.

It is the first system in its size class deployed to a conflict area during the anti-insurgency operation Barkhane in Mali. During the deployment, the THeMIS traversed 1200 km in one of the world’s harshest terrains of lava rock soil and climates climbing to 50 degrees Celsius in the shade. The UGV was operational for over 330 hours.
