KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 22 — Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said President Bush came close to apologizing to him for his administration's strong language criticizing his recent remarks regarding Jews.(...)
In the interview, Mahathir said Bush had read the speech containing his comments about Jews, which was made to a summit of Islamic leaders in Malaysia last week.
''He had read my speech completely and he understood,'' Mahathir was quoted as saying.
